Welcome to Olivera Paintings

I’ve always thought that my work, more than reflections on convoluted times or aesthetic answers to memories of the childhood (and adulthood), more than the search for meanings and definitions to confusing images in my mind or the desire to express in colors and shapes my own interpretation to the usual problems – those old ones that gave name to a piece by the great Gauguin…- I think is something different and simpler. Actually I’ve always have had the impression that my paintings are exactly the opposite: an overwhelming desire to avoid thought.
